Interactive Construction & Architecture CTE Activities
Hands-On Math & Estimation Activities for Tomorrow’s Builders
Our Construction & Architecture Labs bring geometry, arithmetic, and measurement to life through real‑world estimation tasks every student in a construction CTE program should master. From calculating wall paint quantities to estimating concrete for slabs and footings, students get hands‑on with the math used on job sites every day.

Construction & Architecture - Units

Paint Estimation Lab
In this hands-on lab, students step into the role of a professional estimator to calculate paint quantities, labor, materials, and cost for a newly constructed home. Using a floor plan and customer specs, they apply math, blueprint reading, and project planning skills to create a real-world job proposal.

Concrete Estimation Lab
Estimate concrete like a pro! In this hands-on construction lab, students calculate volumes for footings, stem walls, slabs, patios, driveways, and more using real floor plans. Includes unit conversions, material costs, and a bill of materials. Perfect for CTE, construction math, and real-world STEM learning.

Framing Estimation Lab
This interactive lab guides students through the full process of framing a small house, from estimating plates, studs, and roof trusses to calculating bracing, sheathing, labor, and total cost. Students apply real-world math, construction terminology, and cost estimation skills while producing a professional Bill of Materials

Electrical Wiring Estimation
Plan and price a home’s electrical system from start to finish! Students act as part of a construction company’s estimating team, using a floor plan to identify loads, size panels and breakers, calculate wire lengths, count devices, and prepare a complete cost estimate. Auto-graded with real-time teacher console.

Plumbing Estimation
Students use a residential floor plan to identify plumbing fixtures, estimate pipe lengths, count fittings, and calculate material and labor costs. A simplified, real-world activity that’s auto-graded and perfect for introducing plumbing concepts in high school CTE construction classes.
Construction & Industrial Technology
This Construction & Industrial Technology Bundle brings real-world math and CTE skills to life with interactive, auto-graded labs. Students tackle hands-on challenges in concrete, framing, electrical wiring, plumbing, and paint estimation—plus the upcoming Industry Inc. competition, where they manage a car manufacturing business to maximize profit.
