Concrete Estimation

In this lab, students will estimate the quantity of concrete needed for the footings, walls, and girder piers. Students will be given a floor plan of a house and the cross sections of walls; students must use the gridlines to measure the dimensions. The lab also includes unit conversion activities, some of the measurements will be in inches, some in feet, and some in yards, students will have to convert between these units to finally measure the concrete needed in cubic yards.
